Microsoft LiveMeeting

Saturday, March 18th, 2006

I saw something realy cool today – Microsoft LiveMeeting in action.

Now, I’m a big fan of The Apprentice (I even went and saw Zathura because it had featured on the show!) but Alla and Felisha’s presentation of Microsoft LiveMeeting was far from inspiring. Frankly, Randall and Rebecca didn’t make me care about the product either.

However, a vendor demo’d his software to me today via LiveMeeting and I thought it was tremendous. He could share applications and show me calculations and presentations on screen, while we talked on the phone.

Although I was keen on his product, and I hope we can make a deal, I also thought LiveMeeting was spectacular and a real asset to be exploited.

Write code? Check out this guy – he’s brilliant.

Adam Cogan, our guest speaker for the Newcastle Coder’s Group for March, brought along a surprise visitor, Billy Hollis, from the U.S.

Billy gave a fascinating and inspiring talk. We are absolutely delighted and grateful to have had a speaker of his calibre at our humble Newcastle group.
